Product Description
Cyanoacrylate is a fast-acting acrylic adhesive best known as the main component in super glue, consisting of monomers such as methyl, ethyl, or butyl cyanoacrylate that rapidly polymerize in the presence of moisture to form strong, rigid bonds within seconds. It is widely used for bonding plastics, rubber, metals, ceramics, wood, and even skin in medical and first-aid applications due to its high tensile strength, quick curing at room temperature, and ease of application without the need for mixing or heat. The adhesive cures through anionic polymerization triggered by trace moisture on surfaces, creating a durable thermoplastic bond with excellent adhesion but limited flexibility and lower resistance to prolonged heat and moisture exposure compared to structural adhesives. Variants are formulated for specific uses, including low-odor, impact-resistant, medical-grade, and surface-insensitive grades, making cyanoacrylate a versatile adhesive in consumer, industrial, automotive, electronics, and medical sectors.
