Abaxx hosted China City Gas Association in Singapore to foster LNG collaboration, market innovation, and sustainable energy transitions across Asia.
Abaxx Technologies Inc., a global provider of financial software and market infrastructure solutions, has announced that it successfully facilitated a high-level delegation visit from the China City Gas Association (CCGA) to Singapore on August 26–27, 2025. Abaxx, which is the majority shareholder of Abaxx Singapore Pte. Ltd. and operator of the Abaxx Commodity Exchange and Clearinghouse, as well as the producer of the SmarterMarkets™ Podcast, played a central role in hosting the delegation.
The two-day program brought together Chinese energy leaders, Singaporean policymakers, and regional industry associations to explore deeper cross-border collaboration in the natural gas and energy sectors. Key discussions involved Enterprise Singapore and the Asia Natural Gas & Energy Association (ANGEA), focusing on sustainability, innovation, and the future of energy transitions across Asia.
With demand for cleaner, more sustainable energy sources rising across the region, the delegation placed emphasis on practical steps to enhance resilience in energy markets. Topics included the adoption of carbon-neutral LNG, the integration of biogas, and the importance of public-private partnerships to support market stability and innovation.
The CCGA, which represents China’s leading city gas distributors, aligned with Singaporean stakeholders on three major fronts. First, the strengthening of regional market infrastructure by leveraging Singapore’s established position as a global energy trading hub. Second, the advancement of knowledge-sharing and partnerships in liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure development and decarbonization technologies. And third, exploring how Abaxx Exchange’s solutions could help improve risk management, market efficiency, and transparent price discovery in the LNG sector.
Nancy Seah, CEO of Abaxx Exchange, highlighted the growing urgency for effective collaboration in light of the clean energy transition. “The increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions presents a complex challenge across Asia,” she said. “Through this delegation, we are bringing together key stakeholders to identify pathways for greater efficiency and transparency. Abaxx is committed to enabling reliable market signals that drive informed and sustainable decision-making.”
Enterprise Singapore’s Director of Trade, Ivan Tan, emphasized Singapore’s central role in global energy commerce. “Singapore has long been Asia’s energy trading hub, attracting companies from the United States, Europe, and China. These firms leverage our strong financial, talent, and shipping ecosystem to conduct trade across the region. We are pleased to host the China City Gas Association and look forward to welcoming more LNG and LPG companies to establish operations here,” he said.
Paul Everingham, CEO of ANGEA, added that gas remains crucial to urban energy transition in China. He stated, “ANGEA is delighted to support this initiative in partnership with Enterprise Singapore and our member, Abaxx Exchange. Gas will continue to play a vital role in shaping China’s low-carbon future.”
Concluding the exchange, Ma Changcheng, Deputy Secretary General of the China City Gas Association, noted the unique value of Singapore’s strengths in LNG trading and financial markets. “This visit provides important insights for modernizing China’s gas sector, and we anticipate concrete synergies emerging from this collaboration,” he said.
Through this initiative, Abaxx has reinforced its role as a connector between markets, institutions, and governments, helping to chart a more sustainable and cooperative energy future for Asia.
