Argent Fuels Broadens Low-Carbon Fuel Reach to London and South East

Argent Fuels has expanded biodiesel operations into London and the South East, launching a new blending and distribution facility. The company now offers high-blend biodiesel (up to B30) to more regional fleet and rail operators, supporting major emissions reductions and advancing its mission to decarbonise the UK’s transport sector.

Argent Fuels, a leading UK supplier of carbon-saving fuels, is accelerating its drive toward a cleaner, low-carbon transport sector by expanding its operations to cover London and the South East of England. This strategic move aims to bring the company’s high-blend biodiesel products closer to major public and freight transport operators in the region, allowing for greater adoption of low-carbon alternatives across bus, coach, HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) fleets, and rail services.

Part of Argent Energy, Argent Fuels specialises in providing biodiesel derived from waste-based feedstocks. Since 2008, the company has pioneered the commercial-scale delivery of high-blend biodiesel throughout the UK. Today, Argent Fuels powers more than 9,000 diesel vehicles nationwide, including those operated by key players in the transportation sector such as Metroline and Transdev. This growth demonstrates the increasing confidence of fleet operators in high-blend biodiesel as a viable and impactful solution for decarbonising road and rail transport.

While current UK fuel regulations limit standard road diesel to a B7 blend—consisting of 7% biodiesel and 93% fossil diesel—Argent Fuels offers much higher blends, reaching up to B30. These blends can reduce carbon dioxide emissions substantially when compared to conventional fossil-based diesel. By using a B30 blend, operators can cut fossil fuel use by nearly a third, contributing meaningfully to emissions reduction goals and environmental sustainability initiatives.

In a major step to support customers in southern England, Argent Fuels has recently opened a new blending and distribution facility strategically located to serve London, the South East, East Anglia, and the Home Counties. The facility is positioned near major transport corridors, ensuring convenient and efficient access for fleet operators in these key regions. This infrastructure investment underlines Argent Fuels’ commitment to expanding the availability of low-carbon fuels and improving regional support for transport decarbonisation.

The facility will enable faster, more reliable supply of high-blend biodiesel to a growing customer base seeking to reduce their environmental footprint. It also aligns with local and national goals to lower emissions from the transport sector—one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gases in the UK.

Argent Fuels’ expansion represents a critical advancement in the availability of sustainable fuel options and demonstrates how infrastructure development can play a key role in accelerating the transition to cleaner energy. As demand for eco-friendly transport solutions rises, the company’s efforts to scale its distribution network highlight its leadership and commitment to building a greener future.
