Babcock's LGE business, recognized globally as a leader in marine liquefied gas solutions, has recently secured contracts to furnish its LPG and ammonia cargo handling systems, alongside fuel gas supply systems, as outlined in the company's official announcement. The awarded contracts encompass the provision of these systems for two mid-size LPG carriers destined for a Chinese shipyard customer and a European owner, in addition to six Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) slated for construction under the auspices of a Chinese shipyard customer and an Asian-based shipowner.

Anticipated to be commissioned between 2026 and 2027, these new vessels are poised to cater to the burgeoning demand for international long-haul transportation of LPG and ammonia. Leveraging Babcock's cutting-edge ecoVGC and ecoVLAC technology, these vessels are projected to deliver a host of commercial and operational advantages, thereby enhancing their utility and efficiency over their operational lifespan.

The upcoming vessels, scheduled for delivery between 2026 and 2027, are poised to meet the growing demand for international long-distance transportation of LPG and ammonia. They will be equipped with our ecoVGC® and ecoVLAC® technology, offering commercial and operational advantages that endure throughout the lifespan of these ships.

These recent contract victories represent significant progress, particularly in the realm of ammonia transportation, for Babcock’s LGE business. Importantly, these systems are underpinned by proprietary technology developed in-house by Babcock, which includes both patented and patent-pending innovations.
