This alliance will deliver tailored flotation and dewatering solutions to improve product performance and support the industry's growth.
Global chemical giant BASF and leading Lubricant Supplier FUCHS have officially unveiled a cooperation agreement aimed at significantly bolstering their offerings to the Australian mining industry. The collaboration is designed to leverage the distinct strengths of both companies, bringing together BASF's deep-rooted expertise in advanced chemistry and formulation knowledge with FUCHS' extensive on-ground presence, robust technical service capabilities, and strong customer relationships within the Australian mining landscape.
Under the terms of the agreement, FUCHS will assume the role of the exclusive market interface for BASF's flotation and dewatering solutions. These solutions, marketed under the well-known trademarks Lupromin®, Luprofroth™, Luproset™, and Drimax®, will now be managed by FUCHS in terms of customer interactions, ensuring optimal service delivery. While FUCHS handles the direct customer engagement and service, BASF will continue to drive the development of advanced chemistries, focusing on pioneering new and improved solutions for the mining industry.
It is important to note that this cooperation specifically targets flotation and dewatering solutions. BASF will maintain direct sales of its Hydromet Solutions to Australian customers. This includes their renowned product lines such as LIX®, LixTRA™, LixMS™, Solutrix®, Alamine®, and Aliquat® trademarks, which will continue to be supplied directly by BASF.
FUCHS, already a prominent supplier of lubricants like engine oils, gear oils, greases, hydraulic oils, and metalworking fluids with a significant footprint in Australia's mining sector, has been actively expanding its flotation activities, demonstrating its dedication to innovation and growth within the industry. Their established service network and existing commercial agreements with numerous Australian mining houses make them an ideal and strategic partner for BASF in this endeavor.
The core objective of this partnership is to provide the Australian mining sector with highly tailored flotation and dewatering solutions. Both companies share a strong commitment to innovation, and this alliance is expected to enhance product performance, ultimately supporting the efficiency and sustainability of mining operations across the continent.
Caren Hoffmann, Vice President Mining Solutions at BASF, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "Partnering with FUCHS in Australia marks an exciting step forward. Their well-established customer relationships and technical service capabilities perfectly complement our chemistry expertise, enabling us to deliver more targeted, effective solutions to the mining industry. We are confident that this collaboration will bring meaningful value to our customers."
This synergy between FUCHS's robust service expertise and BASF's advanced formulation capabilities is set to create a powerful force in the Australian mining sector.
