Bosowa Energy Group has announced a strategic partnership with BK LNG Solution (BKLS), marking a major step forward in Indonesia’s efforts to transition toward cleaner energy. The agreement, formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed in Jakarta, establishes a collaborative framework aimed at developing liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure and accelerating energy transformation across the country.

The partnership is set to span multiple sectors within the energy industry, including the integration of LNG supply chains, development of floating storage units, construction of gas-fired power generation facilities, and deployment of small-scale LNG distribution using ISO tank containers. Both companies will also work on downstream energy applications and technology-based solutions to extend energy access to remote and underserved regions.

During the signing ceremony, company executives discussed the strategic roadmap and long-term goals of the partnership. Muhammad Akram, chief operating officer of Bosowa Energy Group, said the alliance represents a pivotal step in supporting Indonesia’s clean energy agenda.

“This collaboration not only allows us to diversify our energy portfolio through scalable LNG solutions, but also helps us achieve our mission to lower emissions, strengthen energy resilience, and support national decarbonization goals,” Akram said.

Junizwan, CEO of Bosowa Energasindo, a subsidiary of Bosowa Energy Group, emphasized the long-term potential of the partnership. “This agreement with BK LNG Solution reinforces our commitment to building a cleaner and more efficient energy future. By leveraging BKLS’s international LNG capabilities and combining them with our domestic operational strengths, we are creating a strong foundation for innovation and sustainability in Indonesia’s energy sector,” he said.

BKLS President Henry Kim echoed the shared vision for the partnership. “As a provider of flexible LNG solutions with a strong presence across Asia, BKLS is well-positioned to deliver reliable, tailored natural gas solutions that meet Indonesia’s evolving energy demands,” Kim said. “We view this collaboration as a strategic opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Indonesia’s energy transformation and support the country’s broader sustainability goals.”

One of the core initiatives under the agreement involves converting existing diesel-fired power plants in remote parts of Indonesia into cleaner gas-fired plants powered by LNG. This transition is expected to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions while improving power stability in off-grid areas. Additional efforts will include the deployment of modular LNG regasification units and the development of micro-grid systems tailored for island and rural communities.

Initial pilot projects are scheduled to roll out in Eastern Indonesia later this year, with expansion planned to other regions over the coming years. The partnership aims to support Indonesia’s national energy transition roadmap while positioning both companies for broader engagement across Southeast Asia.

Together, Bosowa Energy Group and BKLS are poised to drive innovation, accelerate clean energy deployment, and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable energy future for Indonesia.
