Brenntag Expands BASF Cleaning Solutions Across Sub-Saharan Africa

Brenntag has announced a new distribution partnership with BASF aimed at expanding access to innovative cleaning ingredients across Sub-Saharan Africa. Under the agreement, Brenntag Specialties will distribute BASF’s Home Care and Industrial & Institutional (I&I) cleaning portfolio in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia.

The collaboration strengthens Brenntag’s presence in the Home Care and I&I sectors by adding a broad range of BASF ingredients designed to improve cleaning performance across multiple applications. Brenntag brings extensive industry expertise, established customer relationships, and a strong regional supply chain network, enabling wider market access for BASF’s technologies throughout the region.

BASF’s portfolio includes advanced surfactant systems developed to support effective surface cleaning by helping remove grease, dirt, and other common soils. The ingredients are also designed to enhance formulation stability while supporting sustainability goals increasingly sought by manufacturers and end users.

For laundry care applications, the agreement provides access to ingredients that support stain removal, fabric care, and color protection, including formulations that perform effectively at lower washing temperatures. This can help reduce energy consumption while maintaining high cleaning standards, aligning with the growing demand for environmentally responsible cleaning products.
