Capstone Green Energy has secured a follow-on order from a leading U.S. natural gas producer for the expansion of its microturbine fleet in the Marcellus Shale beyond 150 units.

A significant follow-on order has been announced by Capstone Green Energy Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiary, Capstone Green Energy, LLC. The order, secured by E-Finity Distributed Generation from a major U.S. natural gas producer, will expand one of the nation's largest microturbine fleets. These additional Capstone microturbines will be deployed in the Marcellus Shale region.

The order includes a pre-commissioned skid equipped with three C65 microturbines and E-Finity’s proprietary m-TIM controller, scheduled for commissioning in October 2025. With this addition, the customer’s Capstone fleet now exceeds 150 units, making it one of the largest deployments of microturbine technology in the United States.

Capstone’s C65 microturbines were selected for their proven ability to deliver reliable, low-emission power in demanding and remote environments. The system offers seamless integration with existing infrastructure while ensuring consistent performance, and is fuelled by on-site pipeline natural gas. The pre-commissioned skid design allows for same-day connection and startup, eliminating the need for lengthy on-site commissioning. Additionally, the skid is engineered for scalability, giving operators the option to add a fourth C65 unit in the future to meet growing load requirements.

Vince Canino, President and CEO of Capstone Green Energy, emphasized the importance of this milestone, stating, “Our relentless focus on delivering customer value through innovative, clean, and reliable power solutions continues to resonate with leaders in the natural gas sector. This follow-on order is a clear signal that our products and service model are making a difference where it counts—in the field, where reliability is not optional.”

E-Finity Distributed Generation has played a central role in supporting the customer’s energy needs. Jeff Beiter, Founder and CEO of E-Finity, highlighted the advantages of the solution. He said, “The fully pre-commissioned skid enables rapid deployment with no on-site commissioning, a major advantage for operations in remote areas. Our customer’s commitment to expanding their fleet reflects the durability of Capstone microturbines and the continued faith in the E-Finity team to provide top-tier service.”

Capstone’s microturbine systems are known for their low maintenance requirements, ultra-low emissions, and ability to provide clean, distributed power in challenging environments. The order not only reflects long-term trust in Capstone’s technology but also underscores the growing demand for efficient, on-site energy solutions that help operators meet air quality regulations while improving operational resilience.
