Welcome To ChemAnalyst
Empower EIT, a vertically integrated lithium technology company, has successfully commissioned its 17,000-square-foot Dallas Operations & Innovation Center, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward commercial production. The facility strengthens the company’s objective of launching its first commercial lithium sales in 2027 by demonstrating its end-to-end lithium processing capabilities using proprietary technologies.
The newly operational center utilizes Empower EIT’s in-house Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) and lithium conversion technologies to transform extracted lithium chloride into battery-grade lithium carbonate. During the latest validation process, the company completed five production campaigns, each processing lithium chloride eluate derived from approximately 40,000 gallons of brine. These campaigns further expanded the technology’s proven performance across multiple domestic brine resources previously tested by the company.
Independent third-party laboratory analysis confirmed that all five campaigns consistently produced battery-grade lithium carbonate with purity levels ranging from 99.68% to 99.91%. The results validate the reliability and effectiveness of Empower EIT’s integrated extraction and conversion process, reinforcing confidence in its readiness for commercial deployment.
In addition to the facility’s commissioning, Empower EIT has strengthened its executive leadership with the appointment of Jim Chaney as Senior Advisor. Chaney brings more than four decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, including his recent tenure at Hunt Oil. His expertise will support the company’s reservoir development strategy, technical due diligence, and integration of subsurface knowledge as Empower EIT expands its lithium and energy asset portfolio.
Chief Executive Officer Patrick Dowling stated that the commissioning of the Dallas Operations & Innovation Center and Chaney’s appointment represent two major achievements in the company’s commercialization strategy. He noted that Empower EIT is now focused on acquiring strategic assets, evaluating additional U.S. mineral resources, securing capital partnerships, and establishing long-term offtake agreements ahead of its targeted commercial launch.
The Dallas facility also features a dedicated environmental laboratory that enables resource owners to conduct brine testing, resource validation, and the development of customized lithium recovery systems, ranging from laboratory-scale testing to field-deployable solutions. Chief Technology Officer Preston McEachern emphasized that the facility reflects more than a decade of research, development, and technical refinement, demonstrating that the company’s technology is prepared for large-scale commercial applications.
As demand for battery-grade lithium materials continues to rise with the expansion of electric vehicles and energy storage systems, Empower EIT aims to strengthen the U.S. critical minerals supply chain through a fully domestic, vertically integrated lithium production platform. The company has already shipped battery-grade lithium carbonate samples to a confidential offtake partner for final product evaluation, representing another important step toward future commercial sales.
Impact on Product
Empower EIT’s successful commissioning of its integrated lithium processing facility is expected to improve domestic battery-grade lithium carbonate availability in the medium term, reducing dependence on imported refined lithium. While the project supports future supply growth, its immediate impact on lithium carbonate prices tracked by ChemAnalyst is expected to remain limited because commercial sales are planned for 2027. Over the longer term, increased U.S. refining capacity and successful commercialization could enhance supply security, moderate regional price volatility, and support stable pricing for lithium carbonate. Downstream battery manufacturers may also benefit from improved supply reliability and reduced logistics-related procurement risks.
