Jordan has taken a significant step toward energy independence and sustainability by partnering with Hexagon Agility for its Mobile Pipeline® technology.
In a major development for Jordan's energy sector, Hexagon Agility, a global leader in clean fuel solutions and a division of Hexagon Composites, has announced an inaugural order from Watani, the National Advanced Natural Gas Company of Jordan. The deal is valued at an estimated $6.9 million (approximately NOK 70 million).
The order includes Hexagon Agility's state-of-the-art Mobile Pipeline® ADR X-Store 45ft modules. These innovative modules are designed to transport large volumes of compressed natural gas (CNG) safely and efficiently, providing a flexible and cost-effective method of energy distribution. Unlike traditional fixed pipelines, this "mobile pipeline" solution allows Watani to bypass infrastructure limitations and deliver natural gas to industrial zones and remote communities that are not connected to the national gas grid. The technology utilizes lightweight Type 4 composite cylinders, which weigh significantly less than conventional steel tubes, allowing for a higher gas capacity per trip and ultimately reducing operational costs.
The establishment of Watani is a direct result of Jordan's dedicated efforts to secure reliable energy supplies and reduce its reliance on foreign imports. The company, a joint venture between the Jordan Petroleum Products Marketing Company (JoPetrol) and the Jordan Liquefied Gas Company, is a key pillar of the country’s Economic Modernization Vision 2033. This vision emphasizes diversifying energy sources, increasing reliance on local resources, and promoting cleaner energy alternatives to traditional fuels like diesel and heavy fuel oil.
Khalil Abu Al-Rubb, Chairman of Jordan LNG and a joint owner of Watani, emphasized the importance of the partnership. "We are proud to take this important step with Hexagon Agility as we accelerate the delivery of clean, reliable energy across Jordan," he stated. "The Mobile Pipeline® solution is a natural fit for our ambitions because it offers the flexibility, safety, and efficiency we need to reach industrial zones and remote communities alike."
For Hexagon Agility, the deal reinforces its position as a key player in the global energy transition. Eric Bippus, Chief Commercial Officer of Hexagon Agility, expressed his honor in providing the company's "industry-leading Mobile Pipeline solutions" to Watani. He noted that as demand for advanced energy solutions grows in emerging markets and the Middle East, Hexagon Agility remains committed to unlocking regional energy production and driving global energy transformation. The company's lightweight composite cylinders are a critical component of this effort, enabling countries to monetize domestic gas resources and transition toward a cleaner energy future.
