INOXAP signed a 15-year agreement with INA Solar to supply ultra-high purity nitrogen for its 4.5 GW solar cell facility.

INOX Air Products Private Limited (INOXAP), one of India’s leading manufacturers of industrial, electronic, and specialty gases, has signed a 15-year supply agreement with Insolation Green Energy Private Limited (INA Solar), a wholly owned subsidiary of Insolation Energy Limited. Under this long-term partnership, INOXAP will provide ultra-high purity (UHP) nitrogen through a dedicated pipeline network to INA Solar’s upcoming 4.5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility located in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. The supply capacity has been fixed at 2,400 Nm³ per hour, ensuring uninterrupted access to a critical industrial gas required for advanced solar cell production.

To fulfill the contractual commitment, INOXAP will make substantial investments in developing a dedicated pipeline infrastructure connecting its existing Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Narmadapuram directly to INA Solar’s manufacturing plant. The new pipeline is expected to provide a continuous, secure, and efficient supply of ultra-high purity nitrogen, eliminating the need for conventional transportation methods while enhancing operational reliability.

Ultra-high purity nitrogen plays a crucial role in solar cell manufacturing by creating controlled production environments that minimize contamination and maintain stringent quality standards. A stable supply of the gas is essential for precision manufacturing processes, helping improve product consistency, operational efficiency, and overall production quality. By establishing a direct pipeline connection, both companies seek to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations while supporting the growing demand for high-quality solar products in India.

The collaboration reflects the shared objective of both organizations to strengthen India’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem and contribute to the country’s vision of achieving greater self-reliance in clean energy technologies. As India continues to expand domestic manufacturing under various renewable energy initiatives, investments in supporting infrastructure such as industrial gas supply networks are becoming increasingly important for ensuring long-term industrial growth.

Commenting on the partnership, Diganta Sarma, Head of Strategy and Business Development at INOX Air Products, stated that the company is pleased to support INA Solar’s expansion in the renewable energy sector. He highlighted that the agreement enables INOXAP to leverage its existing production capabilities in Narmadapuram while making significant investments in dedicated pipeline infrastructure to deliver a reliable supply of ultra-high purity nitrogen. According to him, the partnership reflects both companies’ commitment to strengthening India’s clean energy value chain and accelerating the nation’s journey toward self-sufficiency in renewable energy manufacturing. He further noted that the project is expected to contribute to regional industrial development by expanding critical infrastructure and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Vikas Jain, Managing Director of Insolation Green Energy Private Limited, emphasized that the company remains focused on advancing India’s clean energy ambitions through world-class solar cell manufacturing capabilities. He explained that as INA Solar expands its operations, uninterrupted access to high-quality industrial inputs and dependable infrastructure becomes increasingly essential. The partnership with INOXAP secures a reliable source of ultra-high purity nitrogen, an indispensable component in the company’s manufacturing operations. Jain added that the collaboration brings together two organizations with a common vision of building a robust and self-reliant renewable energy ecosystem while fostering innovation, creating long-term value for stakeholders, and supporting India’s transition toward a sustainable and energy-secure future.

The agreement also reinforces INOXAP’s strategy of supporting emerging high-technology industries such as solar energy, semiconductors, and electronics by providing specialized industrial gases and associated infrastructure. As India accelerates investments in advanced manufacturing, the company continues to strengthen its position as a critical partner for industries requiring reliable gas supply solutions. Over the past year, INOXAP has established several strategic partnerships within the solar manufacturing sector, further enhancing its role in enabling the country’s clean energy expansion. The latest agreement with INA Solar represents another milestone in the company’s efforts to provide essential industrial infrastructure that supports India's rapidly growing renewable energy manufacturing capabilities.

Impact on Products and Chemical Commodity Prices

The 15-year agreement between INOX Air Products (INOXAP) and INA Solar is expected to strengthen the supply chain for India's solar manufacturing sector by ensuring a reliable supply of ultra-high purity (UHP) nitrogen, a critical process gas used in solar cell fabrication. The agreement is likely to improve production efficiency, reduce operational disruptions, and support higher domestic output of solar cells. However, the deal is infrastructure- and supply-focused rather than capacity-expansion in industrial gas production, meaning its immediate impact on broader chemical markets will be limited.

For the chemical commodities tracked by ChemAnalyst, prices are expected to remain largely stable in the near term. Industrial gases such as nitrogen may witness marginally stronger regional demand in central India, but the existing Air Separation Unit and dedicated pipeline reduce supply bottlenecks. There is unlikely to be any significant impact on prices of major bulk chemicals or feedstocks. Over the long term, rising investments in solar manufacturing could gradually increase demand for specialty electronic gases and related high-purity chemicals.
