KBR secures a 10-year catalyst supply contract with Indorama to support six ammonia plants across four countries globally.

KBR has secured a significant long-term contract from Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals FZE to supply catalysts for its global ammonia production assets. The agreement spans ten years and covers catalyst supply for the entire ammonia plant portfolio operated by Indorama. This development represents an important milestone for KBR, as it marks the company’s first long-term catalyst supply contract specifically within the ammonia sector. The deal further strengthens KBR’s standing as a leading provider of integrated ammonia  technologies and solutions worldwide.

As part of the agreement, KBR will deliver a full suite of catalyst solutions to support Indorama’s six ammonia plants located across multiple regions, including Nigeria, Georgia, Uzbekistan, and India. These catalysts are essential components in ammonia manufacturing, as they enhance reaction efficiency and help maintain optimal operating conditions within the production process. By supplying advanced catalyst systems and associated technical support, KBR aims to help Indorama improve plant performance and ensure consistent, reliable ammonia output across its facilities.

The contract reflects the long-standing collaboration between the two companies. Over the years, KBR and Indorama have worked together on several ammonia-related projects, building a strong partnership that spans multiple decades. The new catalyst supply agreement expands the scope of that relationship. While previous collaborations focused largely on technology licensing and project development, this contract extends KBR’s involvement into long-term operational support through catalyst management and optimization services.

Jay Ibrahim, President of Sustainable Technology Solutions at KBR, emphasized the strategic importance of the agreement. He noted that the partnership demonstrates the trust Indorama places in KBR’s expertise and technology. According to Ibrahim, the new contract not only reinforces their existing relationship but also broadens the scope of cooperation beyond initial plant design and licensing. By providing catalysts and related technical expertise over the next decade, KBR intends to support Indorama in maintaining high-performance operations across its ammonia production network.

Ibrahim also highlighted KBR’s commitment to delivering advanced technologies designed to maximize operational efficiency and long-term value. Through its experience in ammonia plant design, process optimization, and catalyst performance management, the company expects to help Indorama enhance efficiency levels, strengthen operational reliability, and improve overall plant productivity. The integration of advanced catalyst systems is expected to contribute to smoother operations and improved performance metrics across the global ammonia portfolio.

For more than 75 years, KBR has played a prominent role in the global ammonia industry. The company has developed and delivered proprietary ammonia technologies, specialized equipment, and catalysts that support efficient fertilizer production around the world. Its solutions have been adopted by numerous producers seeking to optimize plant performance and reduce operational costs while maintaining high levels of reliability.

With this new long-term catalyst supply agreement, KBR further expands its role in supporting global ammonia producers not only through technology licensing but also through ongoing operational solutions. The partnership with Indorama underscores the growing importance of integrated services that combine technology, equipment, and catalyst expertise to help fertilizer manufacturers operate more efficiently and sustainably over the long term.
