The Heavy Engineering vertical of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced a series of key order wins from major clients worldwide, solidifying its position as a leading global supplier of high-precision, fully-dressed equipment. These 'Significant' contracts, which according to the company's classification are valued between Rs. 1,000 crore and Rs. 2,500 crore, demonstrate L&T's technical prowess and reliability across diverse, critical industrial sectors.
The international order book is notably robust, highlighting the company’s strong presence in strategic global markets.
• United States: L&T secured a crucial order to manufacture Vessels for an NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) fractionator project in the US, along with the Cartridge for a Blue Ammonia project in Louisiana. The focus on Blue Ammonia underscores L&T's contribution to the growing clean energy segment.
• Mexico and Brazil: The vertical will supply ammonia and urea processing equipment for two fertiliser plants in Mexico, supporting the expansion of agricultural output infrastructure. Furthermore, L&T will deliver critical Heat Exchangers to Brazil for the high-demand replacement market, ensuring the continuous operation of essential industrial facilities.
• Saudi Arabia: L&T reinforced its existing partnership in the Middle East by winning an order for a refinery and integrated petrochemical complex. This contract is an amendment to a critical contract related to the HOFCC Reactor and Regenerator revamp, a technologically complex project showcasing L&T's ability to handle high-value modifications and upgrades.
Beyond the hydrocarbon and fertiliser segments, the Heavy Engineering vertical has successfully bagged orders in the highly specialised nuclear power equipment sector. These contracts involve the supply of critical equipment for both international and domestic nuclear projects, a testament to L&T's adherence to stringent global safety and quality standards required for nuclear applications.
On the domestic front, the company secured orders for crucial equipment to support a major petrochemical project in Gujarat. This involves the supply of four units of the proprietary 2RK65 Heat Exchanger Package, made with a special Material of Construction (MOC), for a customer's 3 MMTPA PTA7 project at Dahej. This domestic success underscores L&T's continued support for India's large-scale manufacturing and industrial capacity expansion.
