LANXESS is presenting its latest innovations in rubber chemicals and performance solutions at the 12th India Rubber Expo 2026, highlighting its commitment to efficiency, performance, and sustainability in rubber manufacturing. The company’s showcase features a wide-ranging portfolio of specialty chemicals, processing aids, and rubber additives that are engineered to improve production processes while reducing environmental impact. These solutions are particularly relevant to the tire industry, though their applications extend to multiple rubber-based sectors.
A key highlight of the exhibition is the introduction of Vulkanox HS Scopeblue, a more sustainable version of the company’s well-established TMQ antioxidant. This advanced additive is specifically designed to protect rubber, especially tires, from degradation caused by heat and oxidation. While maintaining the same high-performance standards as its conventional counterpart, Vulkanox HS Scopeblue significantly lowers environmental impact, making it an important step toward greener rubber production.
The sustainability benefits of this product are driven by innovative manufacturing practices. By incorporating biocircular acetone and utilizing renewable energy at an ISCC PLUS-certified facility in Germany, the company has successfully reduced the carbon footprint of this additive by more than 30%. Furthermore, Vulkanox HS Scopeblue contains approximately 55% sustainable raw materials, which are verified through a mass-balance approach. This ensures transparency and traceability in sourcing, aligning with global sustainability goals.
In addition to this new development, the company is also showcasing Vulkanox 4060, a sustainable alternative to the widely used 6PPD antioxidant. This product has been developed with an optimized environmental profile while maintaining strong performance characteristics. Laboratory studies and real-world application tests indicate that Vulkanox 4060 delivers comparable protection against oxidative aging in both rubber compounds and finished tire products, making it a viable replacement in various applications.
Beyond these innovations, the broader portfolio on display includes several well-known product lines such as Vulkacit, Vulkanox, Renacit, Zinkoxyd aktiv, NaMBT 50%, Vulkanox 4005, and Benzothiazole (BT).
