Neogenyx Fuels delivered ISCC-certified renewable natural gas to Europe, expanding global market access and strengthening low-carbon fuel exports.
Neogenyx Fuels, a leading developer, owner, and operator of advanced fuel infrastructure, has achieved a significant milestone in its renewable energy business by successfully delivering International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC)-certified renewable natural gas (RNG) from one of its U.S.-based facilities into European compliance markets. The accomplishment highlights the company’s growing role in the international low-carbon fuel sector and demonstrates its ability to meet stringent sustainability requirements demanded by global markets.
The transaction was made possible through certifications that became effective in January 2026, enabling the facility to produce RNG that complies with internationally recognized sustainability standards. The certified gas volumes were tracked and verified using the ISCC mass balance chain-of-custody framework, a system designed to ensure transparency, traceability, and compliance with European Union sustainability regulations. This framework allows renewable fuels to be monitored throughout the supply chain, providing confidence to regulators, customers, and stakeholders that environmental standards are being upheld.
According to Neogenyx Fuels Chief Executive Officer Michael Bakas, the transaction represents another groundbreaking achievement for the company. He emphasized that the RNG supplied to Europe originated from a facility located at one of Republic Services’ landfill sites, marking an important first for the organization. Bakas noted that advanced biofuels are increasingly positioned to become a major U.S. export industry, capable of driving substantial investment into rural communities while generating significant employment opportunities. He added that the successful export demonstrates the growing commercial value of renewable fuel production and highlights the role of RNG in supporting the global transition to lower-carbon energy systems.
Neogenyx Fuels’ portfolio of ISCC-certified projects is capable of producing more than 4.2 million MMBtu of renewable natural gas annually. This substantial production capacity strengthens the company’s ability to supply verified low-carbon fuel to a wide range of customers across both domestic and international markets. As demand for sustainable fuels continues to expand, Neogenyx plans to pursue certification for additional RNG facilities, further increasing its participation in compliance-driven markets and broadening its customer base worldwide.
Republic Services, a key partner in the initiative, views the expansion of RNG infrastructure as an important step toward advancing sustainability goals. Tim Oudman, Senior Vice President of Sustainability Innovation at Republic Services, stated that the two companies are continuing to grow their network of renewable natural gas facilities. This expansion creates new opportunities to provide low-carbon energy solutions to customers around the world while maximizing the value of landfill gas resources through renewable fuel production.
ISCC certification plays a critical role in enabling access to international markets. Recognized globally as a leading sustainability standard, the certification verifies that renewable fuels meet rigorous environmental, social, governance, and traceability requirements. For Neogenyx Fuels, obtaining certification across multiple operating projects enhances commercial flexibility, opens access to new revenue streams, and strengthens confidence among regulators, investors, and fuel buyers. The certification also provides assurance that renewable fuel production aligns with internationally accepted sustainability practices.
The successful delivery was supported by U.S. Energy®, a U.S. Venture company, which acted as an ISCC-certified trader and facilitated the movement of RNG into the European compliance market. Through their collaboration, Neogenyx Fuels and U.S. Energy have established a verified pathway connecting certified U.S.-produced renewable natural gas with increasing demand from European customers seeking sustainable fuel alternatives.
Allison Gladstone, Director of Business Development at U.S. Energy, highlighted the broader significance of the achievement. She explained that ISCC certification expands the potential applications and market opportunities for renewable natural gas by enabling access to international customers. The partnership helps bridge the gap between growing U.S. renewable fuel production and emerging European demand while creating more adaptable supply chains for lower-carbon energy solutions.
The completion of this transaction underscores Neogenyx Fuels’ commitment to developing scalable, compliant, and internationally competitive RNG infrastructure. It also demonstrates the company’s ability to convert sustainability certifications into tangible commercial opportunities. As global demand for renewable fuels continues to rise, Neogenyx is positioning itself as a key supplier capable of delivering certified low-carbon energy products to markets around the world while supporting environmental objectives and economic growth.
