Northern Shield Resources Inc. (NRN) has secured a full ownership stake (100%) in the Root & Cellar gold-copper property located in Newfoundland. This follows the exercise of an option agreement signed in May 2019. The original owner retains a 2.5% royalty, with the option for Northern Shield to buy back 1% for $1.5 million.

The property holds significant exploration potential for epithermal gold deposits and associated copper porphyry systems. It encompasses five gold zones spanning a 6-kilometer stretch within a collapsed caldera complex. Notably, tellurium, a critical metal, is present in four of the gold showings and some copper mineralization.

The Conquest Zone, located in the central part of the property, spans 1800 x 800 meters and remains open in all directions. It has recorded impressive gold grades, with up to 45 g/t Au in bedrock and 111 g/t in float boulders. Drilling in the fall of 2023 explored part of this zone and encountered epithermal gold mineralization in 7 out of 8 holes, with three showing visible gold. IP anomalies beneath this drilling, along with an extensive network linking other gold showings, remain untested.

Currently, trenching is underway in the Conquest Zone, particularly near the high-grade 111 g/t boulder and cross-cutting structures identified about 100 meters east of last year’s drilling. Additionally, prospecting is assessing new intrusive rocks and alterations that could indicate a copper porphyry system, based on field observations.

Ian Bliss, President and CEO of Northern Shield, expressed enthusiasm about the company's complete acquisition of a large and promising epithermal gold and porphyry copper project. He noted that the project continues to yield new mineralization, rock types, and alteration, which enhances its potential. Bliss highlighted the discovery of features characteristic of the upper parts of an epithermal vein system and the significant correlation between IP anomalies and magnetic lows extending to depth. These findings reflect the growing excitement and confidence in the Root & Cellar project, showcasing its increasing value and potential.

Northern Shield Resources Inc., a Canadian exploration leader, thrives on identifying high-potential exploration targets. They specialize in "greenfield exploration," seeking near-surface, Tier 1 discoveries at a lower initial cost. Their model-driven approach minimizes risks associated with early-stage projects for themselves, investors, and the environment. This strategy led them to secure the Root & Cellar Property, initially identified by a Newfoundland prospector. They have since advanced the property as a significant alkaline-related gold-silver-tellurium and copper porphyry system.
