Nouryon, a global specialty chemicals leader, today announced the grand opening of its state-of-the-art Innovation Center for oilfield applications in Houston, Texas. This strategic investment underscores Nouryon's deep commitment to fostering innovation and delivering sustainable chemical solutions specifically tailored to the evolving needs of the oilfield sector in the region.
The newly established Innovation Center is poised to become a hub for advanced research and development, with a primary focus on creating sustainable processes for drilling and completion, production, and stimulation operations. Beyond its core research functions, the facility will also serve as a dynamic platform for industry workshops, collaborative sessions, and comprehensive training programs, fostering knowledge exchange and professional development within the oilfield community.
Johan Landfors, Chief Technology Officer at Nouryon, emphasized the company's global vision for innovation. This marks Nouryon's inaugural Innovation Center in Houston, representing a substantial leap in the company's capabilities and reinforcing its strategic presence in the critical oilfield market. The center is slated to be fully operational by July 2025 and is equipped with cutting-edge testing facilities. These capabilities include advanced analysis in demulsification, comprehensive corrosion and scale inhibition studies, and sophisticated stimulation techniques, all meticulously designed to align with the latest industry standards and exceed customer expectations.
Nouryon has a growing footprint in Houston, having launched its Integrated Services Office in the city in 2020. The company also oversees the operations of four manufacturing sites located across Texas, in Fort Worth, Pasadena, La Porte, and Houston. Globally, Nouryon operates a robust network of 14 Innovation Centers, each designed to cultivate collaboration and foster innovation with regional customers through immersive, hands-on experiences.
