This new Synthetic-EF portfolio includes three products — Synthetic-EF 5, Synthetic-EF 15, and Synthetic-EF 22 — all engineered to address the growing technical, environmental, and operational needs of the modern lubricant industry.

With this launch, Perstorp advances its strategic ambition to become a key supplier in the synthetic lubricants market. The new esters are developed with a strong focus on environmental compliance, product performance, and supply chain resilience. All three products are registered with the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation as biodegradable, and they are on a pathway to be listed under the Lubricant Substance Classification (LuSC) list, meeting EU Ecolabel standards.

The Synthetic-EF 5 is designed for low-temperature environments and features an ultra-low pour point and high flash point. It is a saturated synthetic polyol ester with ongoing OECD 301 biodegradability testing. Synthetic-EF 15 is built for applications requiring superior operational performance and safety, offering excellent oxidation and thermal stability. This product is fully biodegradable and registered with REACH. Meanwhile, Synthetic-EF 22 supports demanding conditions across a broad temperature range, with a high viscosity index and low acid number, also undergoing OECD 301 testing.
