PureWest Energy LLC, a leading independent natural gas producer based in the Rocky Mountain region, has entered into a strategic partnership with Gunvor USA LLC, part of the global energy trading powerhouse Gunvor Group. This collaboration is aimed at accelerating the deployment of verified low-carbon natural gas solutions to support global decarbonization targets, including reductions in Scope 3 emissions.

Under the agreement, Gunvor will offtake PureWest’s third-party verified, low-carbon natural gas attributes. These attributes may be delivered either bundled with physical gas or unbundled as standalone environmental credits. PureWest’s production is independently measured and verified under ISO 14067 — the global standard for assessing a product’s carbon footprint throughout its life cycle. This provides end-users with transparent, auditable, and scalable solutions for reducing their carbon emissions.

The data integrity of PureWest’s environmental claims is further supported by CleanConnect’s ProveZero™ registry, a blockchain-based system designed to verify environmental attributes and carbon intensity. This ensures full transparency and traceability throughout the energy value chain.

Gunvor will integrate PureWest’s verified low-carbon gas into its energy portfolio, enabling the development of a blended gas product that aligns with international sustainability standards, including the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC). This will help industrial and commercial customers reduce emissions without compromising energy reliability.
