Reliance-Sibur JV will lead Indian butyl rubber market

The butyl rubber plant of Reliance Sibur Elastomer Private Limited, at Jamnagar, India has now been completed. The production capacity of this plant is around 120 KTA, which is a joint venture of India’s Reliance and Russia’s Sibur.

As per this venture agreement, Reliance will sell butyl rubber in India and across Asia other than Korea and China. Sibur will deal in Korea, China, and rest of the world.  The two companies are also planning to set up halogenated butyl rubber plant which will meet the demand of the tyre industry.
