SAMSUNG E&A and Honeywell partner to advance carbon capture, SAF, and energy efficiency technologies, accelerating global sustainability and innovation efforts.
SAMSUNG E&A, a leading total solutions provider in the global energy sector, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Honeywell to enhance cooperation and jointly advance innovation in the evolving energy landscape. The collaboration, announced at the 9th Future Investment Initiative (FII) 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focuses on developing and implementing advanced technologies to support the global transition toward sustainable and efficient energy systems.
Through this agreement, both companies aim to leverage their respective strengths to explore opportunities in critical areas such as carbon capture and storage (CCS), waste-to-sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) conversion, and energy efficiency improvement. The MoU builds upon the existing partnership between SAMSUNG E&A and Honeywell, reflecting their shared goal of accelerating technological innovation to address pressing energy and environmental challenges.
Hong Namkoong, President and CEO of SAMSUNG E&A, emphasized the significance of this strategic collaboration, stating, “This partnership with Honeywell represents a vital step in reinforcing SAMSUNG E&A’s ongoing efforts to promote innovation and sustainability across the global energy industry. Together, we aim to advance cutting-edge technologies that contribute to a lower-carbon and more resilient future.”
Similarly, Anant Maheshwari, President & CEO Global Regions at Honeywell, highlighted the necessity of such partnerships in shaping the future of the energy sector. “A sustainable energy industry requires the right balance between economic viability, security, and emissions management. This collaboration with SAMSUNG E&A allows us to combine our world-class solutions and expertise to identify and implement innovative technologies that can strengthen the long-term efficiency and sustainability of the global energy ecosystem,” he noted.
SAMSUNG E&A has been actively expanding its business portfolio by developing next-generation solutions aligned with global energy transition goals. The company’s efforts are guided by its three-pronged “E&Able” strategy—E&Able Low (low carbon), E&Able Zero (zero carbon), and E&Able Circle (environmental sustainability)—aimed at fostering a cleaner and more technologically advanced future.
The newly signed MoU marks another milestone in the growing partnership between SAMSUNG E&A and Honeywell. It complements their earlier collaborations, such as the integration of Honeywell’s advanced solvent carbon capture (ASCC) technology in hard-to-abate industrial projects and a joint SAF technology initiative with Johnson Matthey and GIDARA Energy. These projects collectively strengthen both companies’ positions as pioneers in clean technology and energy efficiency.
By aligning their innovation strategies, SAMSUNG E&A and Honeywell intend to drive meaningful progress toward decarbonization and sustainable growth, further contributing to the transformation of the global energy industry.
