SEWA completes Al Hamriyah gas network, enhancing infrastructure for 1,655 users and supporting Sharjah’s sustainable urban and energy development goals.

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has officially announced the full completion of the natural gas network in both the eastern and western areas of Al Hamriyah City. Executed according to the highest standards in technical precision and engineering quality, this infrastructure project marks a key achievement in Sharjah’s ongoing development agenda. Covering a total network length exceeding 89 kilometers, the initiative was carried out at a cost of AED 14 million.

This extensive gas distribution project is set to benefit 1,655 consumers in the Al Hamriyah region, significantly enhancing local infrastructure and supporting Sharjah’s broader ambitions for sustainable and modern urban growth. The initiative aligns with the strategic vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His Highness has consistently emphasized the importance of delivering advanced and integrated infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the emirate’s population.

Engineer Ibrahim Al Balghouni, Director of the Natural Gas Department at SEWA, stated that the successful completion of this project highlights the Authority’s commitment to expanding critical services that match the pace of urban development in the emirate. He described the Al Hamriyah network as a major milestone in achieving Sharjah’s vision of providing high-quality public utilities and reliable energy services to its residents and businesses.

Al Balghouni also noted that SEWA is actively working on expanding its natural gas network to additional areas across Sharjah. This expansion is part of the Authority’s broader goal to deliver sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible energy alternatives. By offering clean fuel options for residential homes, commercial establishments, and industrial facilities, SEWA is reinforcing its pledge to support energy efficiency and environmental stewardship throughout the emirate.

The completion of the natural gas infrastructure in Al Hamriyah not only improves energy accessibility but also contributes to reducing dependency on more polluting energy sources, paving the way for a cleaner, greener future. This project is one of several initiatives by SEWA aimed at modernizing Sharjah’s utilities sector while maintaining high standards of safety, performance, and environmental consciousness.

With this development, SEWA reaffirms its role as a key player in building resilient and future-ready infrastructure that caters to the dynamic demands of Sharjah’s residents and promotes long-term sustainability. The Authority remains dedicated to implementing projects that drive progress while safeguarding environmental integrity, making Sharjah a model emirate for responsible urban development.
