TechnipFMC wins Petrobras contracts for flexible risers, reinforcing subsea innovation, supporting Brazil’s Santos and Campos basins, and boosting local manufacturing.

TechnipFMC, a global leader in subsea engineering and technology solutions, has received two significant contract awards from Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned energy company, to supply flexible pipe systems across multiple offshore basins. These agreements reinforce TechnipFMC’s role in advancing subsea infrastructure for some of Brazil’s most challenging oil and gas projects.

The first award represents a substantial contract focused on the design, engineering, and manufacturing of flexible gas injection risers. These high-performance systems are essential for maintaining reservoir pressure and ensuring consistent production levels. By enabling high-capacity gas reinjection, they play a crucial role in boosting efficiency within Brazil’s pre-salt formations, particularly in the Santos Basin—one of the country’s most productive offshore regions.

The second award, secured through a competitive tendering process, is classified as a significant contract. It involves the design, engineering, and production of flexible risers and flowlines intended for Petrobras’s offshore assets in the Campos Basin. This basin remains one of Brazil’s cornerstone oil production hubs, and the deployment of advanced subsea technologies there is expected to optimize operations and extend field productivity.

Commenting on the contract wins, Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC, stated: “As Petrobras unlocks Brazil’s vast energy resources, we are honored to contribute with our expertise and innovative technologies. These projects are technically demanding, and our flexible pipe solutions are designed to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. At TechnipFMC, we are committed to driving subsea innovation while delivering long-term value for our clients.”

A key aspect of these projects is that all manufacturing will be executed locally at TechnipFMC’s state-of-the-art flexibles manufacturing plant in Açu, Brazil. This facility has been central to the company’s Brazilian operations, combining advanced technology with localized production capacity. By manufacturing in Brazil, TechnipFMC not only meets Petrobras’s operational needs but also contributes directly to the country’s industrial growth, supporting jobs and strengthening the local supply chain.

TechnipFMC’s history in Brazil spans more than four decades, during which the company has consistently provided cutting-edge subsea solutions and played a role in fostering local economic development. The latest contracts highlight both its enduring partnership with Petrobras and its strategic commitment to Brazil’s offshore energy sector.

As Petrobras continues to expand its deepwater and ultra-deepwater operations, the demand for robust subsea infrastructure is expected to grow. With these new contract wins, TechnipFMC strengthens its position as a trusted partner in delivering flexible technologies that can withstand extreme offshore conditions while enabling efficient and sustainable energy production.
