Tecnimont Private Limited, the Indian subsidiary of Tecnimont (Integrated E&C Solutions), and NEXTCHEM (Sustainable Technology Solutions) have announced the successful inauguration of India's pioneering green Hydrogen production plant at Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh, India in collaboration with GAIL (India) Limited. This milestone marks a significant achievement in advancing sustainable energy solutions within the region, leveraging state-of-the-art technology to bolster India's capabilities in green Hydrogen production and supporting national initiatives aimed at achieving energy independence and net-zero emissions targets.

Awarded in May 2022 and implemented through a partnership between Tecnimont Private Limited and NEXTCHEM, this project represents a significant leap forward in promoting low-carbon energy solutions across India. The facility will deploy advanced 10-megawatt electrolysers to achieve a daily production capacity of 4.3 tons of green Hydrogen. This initiative not only establishes state-owned GAIL as a trailblazer in megawatt-scale green Hydrogen production but also underscores the country's commitment to fostering sustainable energy practices and achieving ambitious environmental goals.

Aligned with India’s Hydrogen Mission aiming to achieve 5 million tons of annual green Hydrogen capacity by 2030, the inauguration of the GAIL Vijaipur facility marks a significant stride towards India's targets of energy independence by 2047 and achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070. Green Hydrogen plays a pivotal role in facilitating the energy transition by providing solutions for long-term storage of renewable energy, replacing fossil fuels in industrial applications, enabling cleaner transportation modes, and potentially revolutionizing decentralized power generation, aviation, and maritime transport sectors. This initiative underscores India's commitment to sustainable development and technological innovation in the pursuit of a greener future.

Alessandro Bernini, CEO of MAIRE Group, expressed great pride in the achievement, highlighting its strategic significance in positioning MAIRE prominently within India's energy transition sector. He noted that their contribution to establishing the country's largest green Hydrogen plant underscores MAIRE's leadership in proposing sustainable solutions for the national industry. Bernini emphasized MAIRE's robust presence in India, where the group employs over 3,000 people, reinforcing their commitment to advancing sustainable initiatives in the region.

Vijaipur Green Hydrogen stands as NEXTCHEM's flagship endeavor in India, strategically positioning the company to pioneer additional opportunities within the nation's dynamic energy sector. This landmark project not only demonstrates NEXTCHEM's leadership in advancing sustainable technology solutions but also underscores its commitment to shaping India's evolving energy landscape. By leveraging cutting-edge green Hydrogen technologies and fostering collaborations with key stakeholders like GAIL (India) Limited, NEXTCHEM aims to boost further advancements in renewable energy adoption, bolstering India's resilience and competitiveness in the global energy transition.
