TerraSafe launches plastic-free laundry sheets and edible pods post-merger with DisSolves, offering sustainable, innovative packaging alternatives to plastics.
TerraSafe™, a U.S.-based rural materials innovation company, has announced a transformative merger with DisSolves, a forward-thinking startup known for its dissolvable film packaging. This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in sustainable packaging by introducing two novel plastic-free solutions: water-soluble laundry detergent sheets and edible pod packaging. Both products are now available for pre-order and are designed to reshape how consumers interact with packaged goods by eliminating plastic entirely from the equation.
The merger synergizes TerraSafe’s commitment to environmentally responsible product development with DisSolves’ expertise in water-soluble technologies. The integration of these capabilities strengthens TerraSafe’s mission to provide practical, nature-based alternatives to conventional plastic packaging. One of the company's headline innovations is a fully edible, dissolvable pod made from safe, food-grade ingredients. These pods are optimized for powdered goods such as protein powders, coffee, and nutritional supplements. Designed to dissolve cleanly in beverages without leaving any waste or residue, they eliminate the need for plastic scoops or wrappers. This innovation reflects TerraSafe’s core philosophy: achieving convenience without compromising environmental integrity.
The second major product is a high-performance, plastic-free laundry detergent sheet. These lightweight sheets are embedded with powerful cleaning agents and are designed to be compact and mess-free. Their plastic-free composition enables the use of circular packaging solutions such as recyclable paperboard, eliminating reliance on traditional plastic jugs and PVA-based sheets. “Our goal has always been to tackle the big challenges that keep companies dependent on plastic,” explained Scott Bolin, CEO of TerraSafe. “What we’ve developed is not just an alternative—it’s a superior delivery method that aligns with circular economy principles.”
To support the commercial rollout, TerraSafe is now offering limited pre-order sample kits of both products and actively seeking corporate partnerships across the food, beverage, and home care industries.
