Indonesia: Topsoe, the renowned provider of technologies that reduce carbon emissions globally, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a consortium of partners. The agreement aims to establish an Ammonia production facility in Bontang, Indonesia. Upon completion, the plant will produce a fertilizer that can provide food for approximately 45 million people living in Indonesia, representing approximately one-sixth of the population.
Topsoe's cutting-edge Ammonia synthesis technology will be employed in a proposed project alongside their latest generation electrolysis cells, SOEC. This will result in a Hydrogen production process that is up to 30% more efficient than other competing technologies.
To support a promising and progressive project that aims to improve food conditions for 45 million individuals in Indonesia while maintaining close to zero carbon footprint. World-class Power-to-X solutions will be contributing to this incredible initiative and look forward to playing part in this exciting endeavor.
Copenhagen Atomics has announced that it will be providing modular thorium reactors for a major project aimed at reducing global CO2 emissions through the production of low-emission Ammonia at an affordable cost. This presents a significant opportunity for the company to offer a complete plant solution to the market, in partnership with other industry players. As part of the initiative, the project partners will be conducting a comprehensive assessment of the operational and regulatory requirements for establishing an Ammonia production facility in Indonesia. The goal is to leverage molten salt fourth generation nuclear technology as a feedstock for the process.
