US Ethanol Prices Slip 2.6% Following Mid-August Gains

U.S. Ethanol markets prices declined 2.6% in the latest weekly assessment as the market corrected after earlier gains. Strong E15 blending demand, elevated export flows, and firm feedstock costs continued to support the market, while domestic inventories limited further upside. EPA waivers expanding E15 availability strengthened transportation-sector offtake, and U.S. Ethanol exports reached 162,000 bpd in the week ending August 28. Scheduled maintenance at several plants also reduced available production during the period. Meanwhile, firmer corn and natural gas costs maintained upstream cost pressure, while LCFS credits supported low-carbon Ethanol economics. Looking ahead to September, Ethanol prices are expected to remain stable to firm, supported by E15 demand and exports, although inventories and plant restarts could temper gains.
