Veolia acquires Chameleon Industries to boost circular economy solutions for semiconductors, expanding sustainable services across North America's tech industry.

Veolia, a prominent provider of integrated environmental services in the United States, has officially completed the acquisition of Chameleon Industries, a Texas-based company known for its production of specialty chemicals. This strategic acquisition aims to enhance Veolia’s circular economy offerings for the North American semiconductor industry. Chameleon Industries specializes in innovative technologies that recover and reuse byproducts from semiconductor manufacturing processes. By integrating these technologies, Veolia aims to further reduce industrial waste and convert these byproducts into valuable materials for industrial use.

The acquisition marks a significant step in Veolia’s ongoing efforts to expand its environmental solutions for advanced manufacturing and high-tech industries. Chameleon currently operates four production facilities across Texas, Oregon, and Arizona. These facilities are dedicated to reclaiming semiconductor byproducts, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient manufacturing ecosystem. This approach not only supports waste reduction but also boosts operational efficiency for manufacturers—a core principle aligned with Veolia’s broader Green Up strategic vision.

Veolia’s commitment to environmental compliance, safety, product stewardship, and quality control remains at the heart of this expansion. Through this acquisition, the company strengthens its mission to deliver forward-thinking and customized environmental infrastructure services across North America.

Bob Cappadona, President and CEO of Veolia North America’s Environmental Solutions and Services division, emphasized the importance of the acquisition, stating, “We are excited to welcome Chameleon to the Veolia family. This move supports our Green Up strategy by integrating key circular economy technologies into our service portfolio. It enhances our capabilities to serve advanced manufacturers and reinforces our leadership role in supporting the technological growth of the U.S.”

Echoing this sentiment, Jared Garza, CEO of Chameleon Industries, expressed enthusiasm about the opportunities the acquisition brings. “Joining Veolia’s extensive global network will allow Chameleon to scale its offerings, better serve our customers, and open new career opportunities for our employees. Veolia’s established leadership in the microelectronics and environmental services sectors will enable us to introduce our technologies to a broader market.”

In the U.S., Veolia offers a comprehensive suite of waste management services, including collection, transportation, recycling, and disposal. Following this acquisition, Veolia will operate with a workforce of over 2,300 employees across more than 200 locations nationwide. The company delivers customized, safe, and compliant services to major sectors such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, petrochemicals, and agricultural chemicals.

Additionally, Veolia continues to be a hub for environmental innovation, developing cutting-edge recycling and repurposing solutions for materials like wind turbine blades and industrial solvents. With Chameleon’s integration, the company solidifies its commitment to sustainable growth, especially in sectors demanding highly specialized and eco-conscious solutions.

Chameleon Industries focuses on the production and distribution of a diverse portfolio of water treatment chemicals. Their offerings include aluminum-based coagulants like aluminum sulfate (alum), aluminum chlorohydrate (ACH), as well as formulations that combine copper and polymers.
