Versalis establishes Versalis Oilfield Solutions to expand oilfield services, improve efficiency, and drive sustainable growth across global energy markets.
Versalis, the chemical subsidiary of Eni, has announced the formation of a new company, Versalis Oilfield Solutions S.r.l., effective from 1 July 2025. This newly established entity marks a strategic shift as Versalis transfers its Oilfield Chemicals business unit into a standalone company. The move is part of a broader plan to enhance its presence and competitiveness in the oilfield services industry.
The newly formed company is designed to consolidate Versalis’ expertise and strategic initiatives under a single, agile, and efficient operational framework. The oilfield operations of Versalis, which began in 2010, involve the development of advanced chemical formulations for the oil drilling industry. These include tailored solvents and additives produced through outsourced manufacturing, along with comprehensive marketing, sales, and technical support services. Over the years, the Oilfield Chemicals business has seen consistent growth in both sales and production volumes, evolving into a valuable and highly specialized segment.
The creation of Versalis Oilfield Solutions S.r.l. is aimed at unlocking further growth potential, broadening the range of services and products, and maintaining profitability in a sector that is both dynamic and highly competitive. By concentrating operations within a dedicated company, Versalis seeks to achieve greater management efficiency, expand its client portfolio, and explore new market opportunities. The new structure will also allow for better alignment of commercial and technological strategies, enhancing both business agility and innovation capacity.
Versalis Oilfield Solutions S.r.l. is now fully operational and actively engaged in several international markets, including Europe, North and South America (notably the USA, Mexico, and Venezuela), Africa (such as Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mozambique, and Angola), and Asia (China and Turkmenistan). With a truly global reach, the company offers specialized technical assistance and a high level of service to its clients, reinforcing its commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
