Global consulting and engineering firm Wood has secured a record AUD $3 billion (USD $2 billion) in contract awards across the Asia Pacific region over the past 12 months. This milestone marks the company’s strongest year in the region to date, driven by high demand for expert services in the energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors.
The contracts include a combination of new awards, extensions, and renewals. Wood is delivering a range of integrated services, including advisory, engineering design, execution, and operations support for significant projects across Australia, Brunei, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Timor-Leste, and the Philippines.
These contract wins reflect growing investment in energy security and resource development throughout the region. Among the key projects Wood will support are:
• Esso, Victoria: Wood is providing long-term maintenance services for both onshore and offshore assets in the Gippsland Basin. These services aim to enhance operational performance and ensure reliability for one of Australia’s most critical energy-producing regions.
• Shell Prelude FLNG, Western Australia: The company has been awarded brownfield engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm) responsibilities for Shell’s Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility. As the world’s largest floating offshore gas platform, the Prelude project plays a major role in Australia’s LNG exports.
• Singapore LNG Corporation: Wood is delivering front-end engineering design (FEED) for Singapore’s second liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal. This project will strengthen the nation’s LNG infrastructure and contribute to long-term energy security.
Ralph Ellis, president of Asia Pacific operations at Wood, highlighted the region’s strategic importance and the company’s long-standing presence in it.
“Demand for energy and resources in Asia Pacific continues to grow rapidly,” Ellis said. “For more than 40 years, we have worked alongside major operators to provide specialist consulting, engineering, project delivery, and maintenance services. This success reflects our deep understanding of the market and our ability to solve complex challenges.”
Ellis also credited Wood’s 5,500 employees in the region for the company’s strong performance.
“This record-breaking year is a testament to the dedication and talent of our regional workforce,” he said. “Their expertise allows us to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions across the entire asset life cycle—from concept to decommissioning.”
He added that demand for Wood’s integrated engineering, project delivery, and operational capabilities remains strong, with a robust pipeline of opportunities expected to drive continued growth.
With these contract wins, Wood reaffirms its commitment to supporting energy transition, infrastructure resilience, and economic development across the Asia Pacific region. The company remains focused on delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient solutions for its clients in both established and emerging markets.
