Worley secures ExxonMobil contract for Baytown complex reconfiguration, enhancing production capabilities, efficiency, and sustainability with completion expected by 2028.

Worley Limited, a leading global provider of engineering, procurement, and construction services, has been awarded a major construction contract by ExxonMobil for a large-scale reconfiguration project at its integrated manufacturing complex in Baytown, Texas. The project is a significant step in ExxonMobil’s broader strategy to modernize and enhance the facility’s production capabilities, enabling the manufacture of higher-value products such as advanced basestocks and distillates while improving operational performance and energy efficiency.

Under the newly awarded contract, Worley will deliver a comprehensive suite of construction services to support the complex’s extensive reconfiguration. The project’s scope covers key infrastructure modifications, the installation of new equipment, and the integration of next-generation processing technologies designed to optimize production. Once complete, the upgrades will enhance the site’s ability to produce premium products while aligning with evolving energy market needs and sustainability goals. The revamped facility is expected to become fully operational by 2028.

Worley’s U.S.-based team will oversee and execute the project, leveraging its extensive experience in large-scale industrial construction and technological integration. The work will span approximately 24 months, focusing on ensuring seamless coordination, safety, and timely delivery throughout all project phases. The initiative underscores Worley’s growing role in supporting major energy companies as they navigate the balance between traditional operations and the transition toward more sustainable industrial processes.

Chris Ashton, Chief Executive Officer of Worley, expressed pride in the company’s selection for this significant contract, highlighting the project’s importance in advancing operational excellence for ExxonMobil. “We are proud to be selected by ExxonMobil for this significant project,” Ashton said. “This contract enables us to deliver innovative construction solutions that enhance efficiency, reliability, and resilience across our customers’ assets. Over the next 24 months, our team will support the modernization of ExxonMobil’s Baytown complex as part of its ongoing efforts to meet growing global energy demands.”

Ashton also emphasized that the project reflects Worley’s continued commitment to providing services that span sustainable, transitional, and traditional energy sectors. The company’s role in this initiative strengthens its position as a trusted partner to global energy producers seeking to modernize assets, reduce environmental footprints, and remain competitive amid a shifting energy landscape.

By integrating advanced technologies and infrastructure improvements, the Baytown project is expected to set a new benchmark for operational efficiency and product diversification in the refining and petrochemical industry. The collaboration between Worley and ExxonMobil reinforces both companies’ shared commitment to innovation, safety, and long-term value creation within the global energy supply chain.
