Plenitude acquires Neoen’s 760 MW French renewable portfolio, boosting capacity, expanding market presence, and advancing its strategic 2028 clean-energy growth targets.
Plenitude has taken a major step forward in strengthening its footprint in the French renewable energy market by entering into an agreement to acquire a substantial portfolio of operational assets from Neoen, one of the world’s leading independent producers of renewable power. The portfolio comprises 52 fully operating facilities spread across France, including 37 solar photovoltaic sites, 14 onshore wind farms, and a battery storage plant. Together, these assets represent a combined installed capacity of around 760 MW and collectively generate approximately 1.1 TWh of clean electricity each year, contributing meaningfully to France’s renewable energy supply.
This acquisition aligns directly with Plenitude’s long-term growth ambitions and further reinforces its standing as one of Europe’s prominent integrated energy companies. The agreement is still subject to approval from the relevant regulatory authorities, but once finalized, it will mark one of the most significant renewable energy transactions completed in the French market in recent years. The scale of the deal allows Plenitude to make substantial progress toward its 2025 goals while supporting the company’s broader 2025–2028 Strategic Plan. Under this plan, Plenitude aims to reach 10 GW of installed renewable capacity by 2028, reflecting its broader commitment to accelerating the energy transition and scaling up sustainable power generation.
France remains one of Europe’s most competitive and rapidly evolving clean-energy markets, and this acquisition strengthens Plenitude’s already sizable presence in the country. By integrating Neoen’s portfolio into its existing asset base, Plenitude expects to enhance operational efficiency, create new synergies, and unlock additional value through optimized asset management. This expansion also complements the company’s existing customer base in France, where Plenitude already supplies energy to roughly one million residential and business customers.
Commenting on the agreement, Stefano Goberti, CEO of Plenitude, emphasized that the transaction marks an important milestone for the company. He noted that the acquisition not only broadens Plenitude’s operational footprint in France but also reinforces its integrated business approach, which spans renewable power generation, retail energy supply, energy services, and electric mobility infrastructure. Goberti highlighted that strengthening the company’s position in these interconnected sectors accelerates progress toward achieving its strategic objectives and supports the overall decarbonization goals of both Plenitude and its parent company, Eni.
Plenitude, fully controlled by Eni, operates as a diversified energy player combining renewable power production with retail energy services, energy efficiency solutions, and a growing network of electric vehicle charging points. With a customer base of 10 million across Europe, the company aims to expand this figure to more than 11 million by 2028 and ultimately reach 15 million customers by 2030. The acquisition of Neoen’s French portfolio represents a significant contribution to these ambitions, reinforcing Plenitude’s commitment to delivering clean, reliable, and integrated energy solutions across Europe.
