Grit Metals Expands Lithium Targets at Central Finland Project

Grit Metals identified new lithium-bearing targets and confirmed a fertile pegmatite system, strengthening exploration prospects at its Central Finland Lithium Project.

Grit Metals Corp. has reported encouraging exploration results from its wholly owned Central Finland Lithium Project, where ongoing surface exploration and the maiden diamond drilling campaign have significantly improved the understanding of the project's lithium potential. The latest findings include the discovery of new spodumene-bearing boulders and confirmation of a highly fractionated Lithium-Cesium-Tantalum (LCT) pegmatite system, indicating favorable geological conditions for future lithium discoveries.

Recent fieldwork focused on systematic surface boulder sampling across the Jylhä target area. The exploration team identified several previously unknown spodumene-bearing pegmatite boulders in areas that had not been explored before. Laboratory analysis confirmed multiple lithium-rich samples, including several with high-grade lithium oxide content. These discoveries have expanded the known distribution of spodumene mineralization and established new high-priority zones for follow-up exploration aimed at locating the underlying bedrock sources.

A particularly promising cluster of lithium-bearing boulders was identified east of the Mörkylä area, while another anomalous cluster was discovered in the central portion of the exploration permit. These findings validate Grit Metals' systematic boulder prospecting strategy, which has proven effective in identifying new exploration targets across the property.

The maiden drilling program also delivered positive geological results. Multiple drill holes intersected geochemically evolved pegmatite bodies displaying characteristics consistent with highly fractionated LCT pegmatites, a geological environment commonly associated with lithium mineralization. Although the initial drilling intersected relatively modest lithium concentrations, the observed alteration patterns, mineral assemblages, and geochemical signatures indicate that the drilling may have encountered peripheral portions of a larger mineralized system.

At the Mörkylä target, drilling intersected altered pegmatite containing elevated concentrations of lithium and associated pathfinder elements such as cesium, tin, and beryllium. While these intervals are not considered economically mineralized at this stage, they provide valuable geological vectors that may guide future drilling toward more lithium-rich portions of the pegmatite system.

By combining drilling data with surface geochemistry and boulder discoveries, Grit Metals has substantially refined its geological exploration model. The integrated dataset provides stronger guidance for targeting more evolved pegmatites that may host economically significant lithium mineralization during future exploration campaigns.

Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Poirier stated that the company's strategy of combining systematic boulder prospecting with targeted diamond drilling is successfully identifying fertile geological environments. He added that confirmation of the fractionated pegmatite system provides clear direction for the next phase of exploration, strengthening confidence in the project's long-term lithium exploration potential.

Impact on Products and Chemical Commodity Prices

The exploration success strengthens long-term prospects for lithium supply, particularly for lithium chemicals used in electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems. However, as the project remains in the exploration stage with no immediate commercial production, the near-term supply of lithium products will remain unchanged. Consequently, prices of lithium-based products are unlikely to experience any immediate impact. For chemical commodities tracked by ChemAnalyst, including lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide, the announcement is expected to have a neutral short-term price effect. Over the longer term, successful project development could improve global lithium availability and support more balanced pricing by easing future supply concerns.
