Hyroad Energy partners with Total Hydrogen Solutions to develop hydrogen refueling infrastructure in Texas, supporting scalable, reliable fuel supply for trucking fleets.
Hyroad Energy has entered into a commercial fueling partnership with Total Hydrogen Solutions (THS), a specialized division of Pneumatic & Hydraulic Company LLC, marking a significant step forward in advancing hydrogen-powered transportation infrastructure in Texas. The agreement centers on the development and operation of a hydrogen refueling station (HRS) in Katy, Texas, which is expected to play a critical role in supporting the growing adoption of hydrogen fuel cell trucking across the region.
Under the terms of the agreement, Hyroad Energy has committed to an offtake arrangement covering the station’s entire production capacity. This ensures a reliable and dedicated hydrogen supply for its expanding base of fleet customers operating within Texas. The move highlights Hyroad’s strategic focus on building a dependable fueling ecosystem that aligns with the operational needs of heavy-duty transportation fleets transitioning toward cleaner energy alternatives.
The hydrogen refueling station will be designed, constructed, and managed by Total Hydrogen Solutions. A key feature of the facility is its integration of onsite hydrogen production using electrolysis technology, enabling the generation of hydrogen fuel directly at the location. This approach enhances supply efficiency while reducing dependence on external hydrogen delivery logistics. Additionally, the station is being engineered to support high-speed fueling capabilities tailored for heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell trucks and trailers, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency for fleet operators.
This partnership is the result of nearly two years of close collaboration between Hyroad Energy and Total Hydrogen Solutions, reflecting a shared vision to accelerate the deployment of scalable hydrogen infrastructure. The companies have worked together to align technical capabilities, operational requirements, and long-term sustainability goals, ultimately shaping a project that addresses both current and future demands in hydrogen mobility.
The Katy-based station is expected to become fully operational later this year, positioning it as a cornerstone asset in Texas’s emerging hydrogen transportation network. Its development comes at a time when interest in hydrogen-powered trucking is rapidly increasing, driven by the need to decarbonize heavy-duty transport while maintaining performance and reliability standards.
Leadership from both organizations emphasized the importance of the collaboration. Total Hydrogen Solutions highlighted the project as a demonstration of its commitment to delivering comprehensive, end-to-end hydrogen solutions that enable fleet operators to transition with confidence. Meanwhile, Hyroad Energy underscored the agreement as a critical milestone in its mission to provide dependable, high-capacity fueling infrastructure that can support large-scale fleet operations.
As hydrogen continues to gain traction as a viable clean energy solution for heavy-duty transport, initiatives like this fueling agreement are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable logistics. By combining infrastructure development with guaranteed demand through offtake agreements, the partnership between Hyroad Energy and Total Hydrogen Solutions sets a strong example of how collaboration can drive meaningful progress in the hydrogen economy.
