Inpasa partners with Sulzer to supply advanced equipment boosting Brazil’s biofuel capacity, enhancing efficiency, cutting emissions, and supporting long-term renewable energy expansion.
Sulzer has been chosen by Inpasa, one of Latin America’s most prominent bioenergy producers, to serve as the primary supplier of process pumps and agitators for the company’s latest phase of expansion in Brazil. This selection underscores the deepening collaboration between the two organizations as Inpasa ramps up its investments to boost biofuel production capacity and strengthen its role in the region’s growing renewable energy landscape.
Inpasa is actively constructing new biofuel production units while simultaneously modernizing and enlarging its existing facilities. The company’s output supports several essential industries, ranging from transportation and animal feed to pharmaceuticals, food processing, and chemicals. With total project investments surpassing CHF 360 million, the partnership outlines the delivery of more than 600 specialized pieces of industrial equipment. These units will be deployed across various operational segments—including ethanol manufacturing, DDGS (Distiller’s Dried Grains with Solubles), corn oil extraction, and renewable energy production—beginning in the first half of 2026.
The equipment provided by Sulzer will play a critical role in processing the raw materials needed to produce Inpasa’s renewable products. As the installations progress, Inpasa anticipates that its new facilities will elevate the company’s overall processing capacity to approximately 16 million tonnes annually by 2027. This scale-up represents a major step in meeting rising demand for biofuels and supporting Brazil’s long-term shift toward cleaner energy sources.
Sulzer’s technology has been engineered with a focus on delivering consistent performance, high durability, and superior energy efficiency. These attributes ensure that the equipment can withstand continuous industrial operations while minimizing energy consumption and maintenance needs. As a result, Inpasa expects to benefit from reduced operating expenses, improved uptime, and a significantly lower environmental footprint—key considerations as the company strengthens its commitment to sustainable production.
Mathias Pruessing, Division President Flow at Sulzer, highlighted the importance of the collaboration, noting that the agreement further cements the strategic relationship between the two companies. He emphasized Sulzer’s pride in supporting Inpasa’s ongoing expansion and its broader mission to foster innovation within the bioenergy sector. According to Pruessing, projects like this are vital in accelerating Brazil’s transition to renewable energy and helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Inpasa also expressed strong confidence in the partnership. Renato Teixeira, the company’s Communication and Marketing Director, stated that this cooperation represents a major milestone in advancing both operational efficiency and environmental responsibility. He noted that Sulzer’s advanced technological solutions will be essential in strengthening Brazil’s renewable energy infrastructure, enabling Inpasa to achieve its production targets while reinforcing its long-term sustainability objectives.
Together, Sulzer and Inpasa aim to support Brazil’s evolving energy ecosystem, demonstrating how strategic industry partnerships can play a pivotal role in driving the global shift toward cleaner and more efficient energy solutions.
