Ohmium International Inc., a recognized provider of high-efficiency and modular Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer technology, has entered into a master cooperation agreement with Hynfra P.S.A., a leading developer of green hydrogen and green ammonia projects. The partnership aims to accelerate the development of large-scale green hydrogen initiatives across the Middle East and Africa, with initial focus on projects located in Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman. This collaboration marks an important step toward expanding clean hydrogen infrastructure in regions that possess abundant renewable energy resources and strong potential to become major exporters of sustainable fuels.

Under the agreement, Ohmium will support Hynfra during the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase of the selected projects, which is a critical stage involving technical assessments, engineering planning, and project optimization before final investment decisions are made. In addition to FEED support, Ohmium will contribute its specialized expertise in PEM electrolyzer technology throughout the broader development process, ensuring efficient system design, scalability, and reliable hydrogen production capabilities.

The three projects are intended to produce green hydrogen using renewable electricity, with a significant portion of the hydrogen being utilized for the production of green ammonia. Green ammonia is increasingly viewed as a vital low-carbon energy carrier and an important solution for decarbonizing industries such as fertilizers, shipping, and power generation. The projects will also aim to produce Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO)-compliant green ammonia, enabling exports to regions with rising demand for sustainable energy products, particularly European markets that are strengthening their clean energy transition policies.

According to Ohmium’s leadership, the agreement represents a strategic milestone in the company’s expansion across the Middle East and Africa. The collaboration with Hynfra combines Ohmium’s advanced electrolyzer technology with Hynfra’s extensive experience in developing large-scale renewable energy and hydrogen projects. Together, both companies intend to support the rapid commercialization and deployment of green hydrogen technologies, contributing to the global shift toward cleaner and more sustainable energy systems.

The Middle East and African regions are increasingly emerging as strategic locations for green hydrogen production due to their abundant solar and wind resources, availability of large land areas, and geographical proximity to key import markets. Countries such as Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman are investing heavily in green hydrogen as a means of enhancing energy security, reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels, diversifying their economies, and creating new export-oriented industries.

Ohmium’s modular PEM electrolyzer technology provides several advantages for these large-scale projects, including faster installation, flexible capacity expansion, higher operational efficiency, and the ability to respond effectively to fluctuations in renewable electricity generation. These characteristics make PEM technology particularly suitable for integrating with solar and wind power systems that supply green hydrogen plants.

Hynfra emphasized that its project strategy involves working with multiple technology providers and maintaining more than one qualified supplier within each major technology category. This approach reduces project risks, enhances supply chain reliability, and allows access to the most suitable technologies available in the rapidly developing hydrogen industry. Ohmium has been selected as one of Hynfra’s key PEM electrolyzer partners due to its technical capabilities and proven expertise.

Overall, the master cooperation agreement highlights the accelerating global investment in green hydrogen and green ammonia as essential components of the energy transition. By combining technological innovation with large-scale project development expertise, Ohmium and Hynfra are positioned to support the establishment of new clean energy hubs across the Middle East and Africa, strengthening regional energy independence while supplying sustainable fuels to international markets.

Market Impact: The agreement between Ohmium and Hynfra is expected to have a positive long-term impact on the green hydrogen and green ammonia markets by accelerating production capacity in emerging renewable energy hubs such as Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman. Increased deployment of PEM electrolyzers will boost demand for critical components including electrolyzer stacks, iridium and platinum-based catalysts, membranes, and renewable electricity infrastructure.

As green hydrogen production scales up, the availability of green ammonia is likely to increase, improving global supply and potentially exerting downward pressure on green ammonia prices over the long term. However, in the near term, rising investment and infrastructure development could keep production costs elevated due to high demand for advanced electrolyzer systems and raw materials. The development of export-oriented green ammonia projects will strengthen supply to Europe and other clean-energy markets, reducing dependence on fossil fuel-based ammonia and supporting the broader transition toward low-carbon industrial and energy sectors.
