Snam Expresses Interest in Carbon Capture and Hydrogen Projects in Italy

Snam, the Italian energy infrastructure company, has unveiled plans to conduct a market test to assess the demand for hydrogen and interest in carbon capture within Italy. The company is already actively involved in a collaborative initiative with Eni, another major energy provider. Together, they are working on a significant project focused on establishing a CCS hub off the coast of Ravenna. The captured emissions from these industrial sources will undergo permanent storage deep beneath the seabed, with an estimated capacity to store around 300 million metric tons of CO2 by the year 2050.
