Trinseo , a global specialty materials solutions provider, has introduced LIGOS™ A9615, a new general-purpose acrylic adhesive formulated specifically for film labels. This launch marks a significant advancement in the company’s adhesive product portfolio, leveraging decades of expertise to meet growing demands in Southeast Asia’s labeling market.

Developed with the General Purpose Label (GPL) market in mind, LIGOS™ A9615 offers a combination of advanced performance characteristics that make it suitable for a wide range of labeling applications, including packaging and consumer goods. According to Trinseo, the adhesive is engineered to address key industry needs such as strong adhesion, ease of repositioning, and resistance to common environmental factors.

Among its notable features, LIGOS™ A9615 provides excellent aging resistance, which allows labels to retain adhesion properties over time without degradation. The adhesive also boasts strong cohesion, which ensures easy and clean label removal while maintaining repositioning capability—a highly desirable trait for applications requiring flexibility during labeling processes.

One of the standout attributes of LIGOS™ A9615 is its plasticizer resistance, a critical feature for labels applied to polyvinyl chloride (PVC) films. This property enables the adhesive to maintain strong bonds on flexible and curved plastic surfaces, ensuring that labels stay securely in place while adapting to various shapes and textures.

Trinseo’s latest product is strategically targeted at the Southeast Asian market, where demand for versatile and durable labeling solutions continues to grow across industries such as food and beverage, personal care, household goods, and logistics.

“We are excited to introduce LIGOS™ A9615 to the Southeast Asian market,” said Jeffrey Li, marketing and product manager for Latex Binders at Trinseo. “This product not only delivers the strong adhesion and removability our customers expect, but also offers superior resistance to plasticizers. These features ensure that labels perform reliably on a variety of surfaces, making it a versatile solution for many applications.”

With its blend of reliability, functionality, and adaptability, LIGOS™ A9615 reflects Trinseo’s commitment to innovation and customer-focused product development in the adhesives sector. The company believes this new offering will set a new standard in label performance for film-based applications.

LIGOS™ A9615 is now commercially available and is positioned to support a broad range of labeling needs in Southeast Asia, helping manufacturers and brands meet both functional and aesthetic requirements in an increasingly competitive market.
