Envision completes first commercial green ammonia shipment to South Korea, showcasing AI-driven renewable production and advancing global zero-carbon energy transition efforts.

Envision, a globally recognized green technology firm, has achieved a landmark milestone by dispatching the world’s first commercial shipment of green ammonia from Chifeng in Inner Mongolia to LOTTE Fine Chemical. This historic delivery represents the first fully integrated, end-to-end commercial operation in the green ammonia sector, covering every stage of the value chain—from renewable hydrogen production to international maritime transportation. It signals a decisive step forward in scaling carbon-free energy solutions for global markets.

The shipment originates from Envision’s advanced production hub in Chifeng, widely regarded as the world’s largest facility dedicated to green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing. This industrial complex operates entirely on renewable energy, utilizing a sophisticated system powered by wind and solar resources. At the core of this innovation lies “physical AI,” a technology that intelligently manages renewable energy inputs, ensuring a stable and efficient supply for hydrogen generation and subsequent ammonia synthesis. By overcoming the intermittency challenges typically associated with renewable energy, the facility demonstrates how digital intelligence can unlock consistent industrial-scale output.

Yimin Lou, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Envision Energy, emphasized the broader significance of the shipment, describing it as more than just a cargo delivery. He highlighted that the vessel symbolizes the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy systems. According to Lou, the successful launch confirms that the green ammonia value chain has transitioned from conceptual planning to real-world execution. By leveraging physical AI and harnessing the abundant renewable resources of the Gobi Desert, Envision is now capable of supplying zero-carbon fuels to international partners, beginning with South Korea.

Seung Won Chung, CEO of LOTTE Fine Chemical, underscored the global importance of this milestone. He noted that the commercial introduction of green ammonia is attracting widespread attention beyond corporate and national boundaries. Chung described the shipment as a historic starting point for establishing a comprehensive green hydrogen and ammonia ecosystem, which is increasingly viewed as a critical pathway for achieving carbon neutrality. He also reaffirmed the company’s ambition to collaborate with global industry leaders to position itself as Asia’s leading clean ammonia hub.

Currently, Envision’s Chifeng facility has an annual production capacity of approximately 320,000 tons of green ammonia, with exports having commenced in the fourth quarter of 2025. Looking ahead, the company plans to significantly scale up operations, targeting an annual output of 1.5 million tons by 2028. This expansion is expected to serve as a replicable blueprint for developing similar zero-carbon industrial hubs worldwide.

The green ammonia produced by Envision meets rigorous international certification standards, including ISCC EU, ISCC PLUS, and RFNBO compliance, ensuring its credibility and sustainability credentials. Additionally, the company’s proprietary AI-driven wind-to-hydrogen system enhances efficiency across the entire production cycle, optimizing the conversion of renewable energy into green molecules.

The project has also gained global recognition. During the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, it was featured as a flagship case study in a white paper highlighting practical pathways for advancing energy infrastructure. This acknowledgment positions Envision’s initiative as a benchmark model for accelerating the global transition toward zero-carbon industrial systems.
